Collage, fabric, slides, video and natural elements are combined in installations, large works, executed with attention to detail, which address themes such as memory, the status of the artist, absence and loss, the online environment.<\/p>\n

Made by the latest graduates from the Photo – Video Department of UNArte Bucharest, they are brought together under the title \u201cCtrl Shift Me\u201d at Reziden\u021ba9, where they can be seen until July 27.<\/p>\n

The first to catch the eye is Alexia Popescu’s installation of photography and haute-lisse tapestry. Full of color, it is meant to be a safe space of memory. \u201cAl loro catastih m’a f\u0103cut pristav\u201d invites the viewer to rediscover the intimacy of their own memory. <\/p>\n

Elena Lazarenco’s \u201cMapped by Memory\u201d is instagrammable, but it also comes with something unique – the interactive installation explores self-perception through slides suspended on wires with delicate lights that can be closely scrutinized.<\/p>\n

Arthi Duraisamy installation, curatorial<\/p><\/div>\n

Arthi Duraisamy presents the mixed media installation \u2018Samay\u0101\u2019, a word meaning \u2018the right moment\u2019 according to the Sanskrit dictionary. The work talks about the correlation of time, events, consciousness, universe. \u201cI chose Samay\u0101 as the theme for my undergraduate project to highlight the importance of divine timing, with the hope that it will inspire people to live authentically, in harmony with the universe,\u201d says the artist. <\/p>\n

Alina Tr\u0103istaru talks about mourning, Robert Mancini reflects visually and sonically on the passage of time, Paul Ilfoveanu \u201csketches\u201d symmetry, repetition, Elena Tanasescu plays with shadows, Maia Vieru demonstrates the existence of a search of species to get closer, David Pelmu\u0219 escapes into an alternative life in open dialogue, Matei Milstein analyzes generations and absences, and Lory Nehoianu introspects in a closed room and on the seashore, in a film-reflection.<\/p>\n

How digital platforms influence our perception is also questioned by Pa\u0219ca Alex, while Tina P\u0103unescu explores the reality of online relationships. <\/p>\n

Cristina Ulmanu brings a new dose of melancholy, talking about how time affects memory, Vasile Tiliban superimposes images to create a realistic movement, Darius Geambazu brings his own family to the fore, a family tree with memories from various socio-political periods, Leonardo Rocha Morales instigates pedestrians to take over the streets of Bucharest.<\/p>\n

\u201cCtrl Shift Me\u201d is on view at Reziden\u021ba9 until July 27, Tuesday through Friday from 16:00 to 20:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 13:00 to 20:00.
