Ninety objects will be exhibited for the first time in the Oriental Art Gallery of the National Art Museum of Romania (MNAR), starting August.<\/p>\n

The institution has announced that from July 30 to August 1 both the Oriental Art Gallery and the Gallery of European Decorative Art will be closed for the refurbishment of the exhibition space.<\/p>\n

They will reopen on August 2.<\/p>\n

Galeria de Art\u0103 Oriental\u0103\/<\/a>The Oriental Art Gallery, inaugurated in November 2024 after 16 years of preparation, hosts hundreds of art objects from countries such as Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, China, Dagestan, Egypt, Greece, India, Iran, Japan, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, selected from the most important and valuable patrimony of Oriental and Far Eastern art in the country, managed by the National Art Museum of Romania.<\/p>\n

Among the novelties on display since August in the seven rooms on the third floor of the MNAR is a polychrome woodcut by Utagawa Kunisada (1786 – 1865) called “Craftsmen” (1858).<\/p>\n

Galeria de Art\u0103 Decorativ\u0103 European\u0103<\/a> \/The Gallery of European Decorative Art opening in January 2024, which has been in preparation for a decade, brings together hundreds of objects dating from the 16th to 19th centuries from prestigious workshops in Europe and occupies six rooms on the third floor of the museum’s A2 building.<\/p>\n
