When keeping the artworks proves more difficult than stealing them, Mooney is sentenced to a life on the run. <\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_59975\" style=\"width: 1260px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-59975\" class=\"size-full wp-image-59975\" src=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/The-Mastermind.jpg\" alt=\"the mastermind\" width=\"1250\" height=\"637\" srcset=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/The-Mastermind.jpg 1250w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/The-Mastermind-640x326.jpg 640w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/The-Mastermind-768x391.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1250px) 100vw, 1250px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-59975\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u201dThe Mastermind\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The feature film, starring Josh O\u2019Connor, Sterling Thompson, and Alana Haim, was released in competition at this year\u2019s Cannes Film Festival, received two nominations at the Gotham Awards, among others, and was selected by the National Board of Review as one of the ten best independent films of the year.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Peter_Hujars_Day\"><\/span><strong>Peter Hujar\u2019s Day<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The docudrama directed by Ira Sachs recreates a 1974 conversation between the photographer Peter Hujar (played by Ben Whishaw) and Linda Rosenkrantz (Rebecca Hall). The film has been praised as an elegant, elegiac testament to artists and to the way every moment\u2014whether fulfilled or not\u2014can fuel creativity or connection. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Auction_Le_tableau_vole\"><\/span><strong>Auction\/ Le tableau <span class=\"hero__primary-text\" data-testid=\"hero__primary-text\">vol\u00e9<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In \u201cAuction \/ Le tableau vol\u00e9,\u201d a modern art specialist played by Alex Lutz receives a letter claiming that a painting by Egon Schiele has been discovered in Mulhouse. He learns that the work had been missing since 1939, and the discovery puts his career at risk.  <\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_59980\" style=\"width: 1310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-59980\" class=\"size-full wp-image-59980\" src=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Alex-Lutz-Le-tableau-vole-1.jpg\" alt=\"alex, lutz, le tableau vole\" width=\"1300\" height=\"730\" srcset=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Alex-Lutz-Le-tableau-vole-1.jpg 1300w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Alex-Lutz-Le-tableau-vole-1-640x360.jpg 640w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Alex-Lutz-Le-tableau-vole-1-768x431.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1300px) 100vw, 1300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-59980\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alex Lutz, in \u201eLe tableau <span class=\"hero__primary-text\" data-testid=\"hero__primary-text\">vol\u00e9\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Directed by Pascal Bonitzer, the feature film is an amusing satire of manners and of the Machiavellian tactics to which auction houses resort in order to secure the highest bid.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Traffic\"><\/span><strong>Traffic<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Focusing more closely on the situation of Romanians who have gone abroad to work, the film \u201eTraffic\/ Jaful secolului\u201d, written by <a href=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/arta\/interviu-cristian-mungiu-jaful-secolului-si-obsesia-romanilor-pentru-imaginea-pe-care-o-au-in-strainatate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cristian Mungiu<\/a> and directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/arta\/interviu-regizoarea-filmului-jaful-secolului-despre-vietile-oamenilor-in-raport-cu-arta-inestimabila\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Teodora Ana Mihai<\/a>, is inspired by a true story\u2014the theft in 2012 of seven valuable works of art from the Kunsthal Rotterdam by a group of Romanians.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_55722\" style=\"width: 1310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-55722\" class=\"size-full wp-image-55722\" src=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Jaful-secolului-still-Anamaria-Vartolomei.jpg\" alt=\"jaful secolului, still, anamaria vartolomei\" width=\"1300\" height=\"731\" srcset=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Jaful-secolului-still-Anamaria-Vartolomei.jpg 1300w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Jaful-secolului-still-Anamaria-Vartolomei-640x360.jpg 640w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Jaful-secolului-still-Anamaria-Vartolomei-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1300px) 100vw, 1300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-55722\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Anamaria Vartolomei, in \u201eTraffic\/ Jaful secolului\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Mungiu kept the incident from 13 years ago as his starting point, but the characters are fictional, focusing on the theme of migration, how Romanians feel when treated abroad, and how the value of a Paul Gauguin painting, for example, is incomprehensible to those who work for little money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dTraffic\u201d, Romania&#8217;s entry for the 2026 Oscars in the &#8220;Best International Feature Film&#8221; category, won the Audience Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival, the Balkan Film Award (for best film in the Balkan competition) at the Sofia International Film Festival, the Grand Prix at the Warsaw International Film Festival (2024), the Grand Prix and the Best Actress Award (Anamaria Vartolomei) at the Tokyo International Film Festival (2024). In January 2026, the feature film will be presented at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Four_Letters_of_Love\"><\/span><strong>Four Letters of Love<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>An Irish love story, full of drama and fantasy, &#8220;Four Letters of Love&#8221; centers on a painting that is only revealed to the viewer at the end.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_59985\" style=\"width: 2058px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-59985\" class=\"size-full wp-image-59985\" src=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pierce-brosnan-four-letters-of-love.webp\" alt=\"pierce brosnan, four letters of love\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1152\" srcset=\"https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pierce-brosnan-four-letters-of-love.webp 2048w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pierce-brosnan-four-letters-of-love-640x360.webp 640w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pierce-brosnan-four-letters-of-love-1300x731.webp 1300w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pierce-brosnan-four-letters-of-love-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pierce-brosnan-four-letters-of-love-1536x864.webp 1536w, https:\/\/curatorial.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pierce-brosnan-four-letters-of-love-1320x743.webp 1320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-59985\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pierce Brosnan, in \u201dFour Letters of Love\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Pierce Brosnan plays the role of a civil servant who one day discovers that he is meant to paint. Through a competition (and a series of circumstances), the only painting that survives ends up with the Gore family, thanks to a poem written by Muiris, played by Gabriel Byrne, a teacher and poet. <\/p>\n<p>Nicholas and Isabel, their children, are made for each other, but how will they ever find out? The cast is rounded out by Helena Bonham Carter, Donal Finn, and Ann Skelly.
