“Sea Sisters. Stories by the Sea” presents emerging and established artists at the Art Galleries in Constanta, inaugurating the recently refurbished space. <\/p>\n

The Constanta Casino, officially reopened in May 2025, and Art Safari have recently announced a strategic cultural project – the exhibition “She: Queen and the Sea<\/a>” – which will bring to the public a unique exhibition concept based on the deep relationship between Queen Mary and the Black Sea. This cultural approach is complemented by a satellite exhibition of contemporary art – “Sea Sisters. Stories by the Sea”, which brings together emerging and established artists whose practices are deeply connected to the Dobrogea and the Black Sea, source of inspiration for the Queen.
\nThe exhibition will open on March 13 at the Art Galleries in Constanta.<\/p>\n

“The exhibition aims to bring to the present and symbolically continue the idea of artistic patronage supported by Queen Maria, evoking the period of the Association of Women Painters and Sculptors, one of the most important initiatives dedicated to the affirmation of Romanian women artists in the interwar period. The Association was founded in 1916 in Bucharest by the artists Cecilia Cu\u021bescu-Storck and Olga Greceanu, with the support of Queen Marie Marie. Through this dialog between heritage and contemporary creation, the exhibition at the Art Galleries of Constanta reaffirms the role of women’s freedom in art throughout the ages”, says Ioana Ciocan, Managing Partner Art Safari. <\/p>\n

The artists present in the exhibition are Ana B\u0103nic\u0103, Irina Dragomir, M\u0103d\u0103lina Andronic, Nadina Stoica, Mimi Ple\u0219oioanu, Anca Benera, Iuliana V\u00eeslan, Ecaterina Vrana, Ana Chiorean, Alina Aldea, Ana TN B\u0103nic\u0103, Magda Pelmu\u0219, Roxana Benea, Flavia Lupu, Alexandra Tudosia, Carmen Marin, Adriana Hodorc\u0103 and Alexandra Grigore.

The Art Galleries in Constanta have undergone a process of redevelopment, and the space was recently handed over to the Patrimoniu Constan\u021ba Litoral, the same entity that also manages the Constanta Casino. This is the first exhibition to be held in this refurbished space, which aims to bring relevant contemporary artists and performers to the public’s attention, with a focus on showcasing local talent. <\/p>\n

Art Safari, a strategic national cultural project, specializes in creating exhibition pavilions of visual art and national history. Annual organizer of the Bucharest Art Pavilion – the largest conglomerate of art exhibitions in Romania – now in its 18th edition, it realizes, in partnership with Romanian and international art museums and private collectors, large retrospective exhibitions that aim to recover heritage values and contemporary art exhibitions. In its 17 editions so far, it has registered more than 1 million visitors. <\/p>\n
