A new art gallery in the Danube Delta
FAAD art gallery in Mahmudia is inaugurated on July 25 with a group exhibition entitled “The Fisher King”, which will remain open until September 29.
Twelve artists are exhibiting works on the relationship between water, man and the environment, exploring the sacredness of water and capitalizing on the cultural and natural heritage of the Danubian-Pontic area.
Paintings, objects and graphic works by Aurel Bulacu, Gheorghe Caruțiu, Mircia Dumitrescu, Ghorghe Fărcașu, Bogdan Hojbotă, Traian Oancea, Valeriu Lazăr, Eusebio Spinu, Florin Stoiciu, Ioana-Lavinia Streinu, Ignat Ștefanov and Ion Tițoiu will be on display.
Through visual arts, performance and historical documentation, the events at the new gallery convey the message that “catharsis can be achieved in front of a work of art just as it can be achieved enveloped by the landscape in front of a stretched thread”.
