Iasi Art Museum, number of visitors decreasing in 2025
The Iasi Art Museum, hosted by the Palace of Culture and part of the National Museum Complex Moldova, recorded 65,663 visitors last year, of which about 15% were foreign tourists, according to data provided at the request of the curatorial. This is a major drop, considering that for 2024 the institution announced 220,839 tickets sold at the Palace of Culture.
The most visited temporary exhibitions in 2025 were “Space”, with works by the artist Vladimir Păun Vrapciu, and “About Portraits #4”, an international group exhibition, both held in the Art Museum’s premises from November 27, 2025 to January 4, 2026, with 5,714 visitors.
At the Art Museum, during the year 2025, 11 openings were organized, ten of which for the temporary exhibitions and one for the permanent Romanian Art Gallery.
As for this year’s events, the museum proposes:
January 14 – February 13, the painting exhibition “Pictora”, signed by artist Florentina Voichi;
February 19 – March 19, exhibition within the event Romanian Sculptors Month;
March 2 – March 22, exhibition of sculpture and installations signed by artist Leontin Paun-Rotonda;
April 10 – 26, exhibition of sculpture and drawing by the artist Vladlen Babcinețchi;
May 8 – 25, exhibition by Iasi artists within the Romanian Creative Week;
in June is scheduled the exhibition “Donations and Donors, Dr. Aldea Collection”;
in October, the exhibition “Artists from Palace of Culture”.
