
Ștefan Câlția, the highest bid in “Summer in the City. The auction of post-war and contemporary art”
A 1999 oil on canvas work by Ștefan Câlția recorded the highest bid in “Summer in the City. Auction of Postwar and Contemporary Art,” organized by Artmark on July 10, which featured 186 lots.
With an estimated value of €30,000 to €50,000, the painting “Traveler with Wings” sold for €33,000.
Câlția was also present at the auction with four other works, serigraphs and lithographs, three of which found buyers at prices between €250 and €600.
The second most valuable lot was “Melancholia” (1978), oil on canvas by Sabin Bălașa, which had a maximum estimate of €9,000 and was sold for €20,000.

The artist was also present at the auction with “Fantastic World” (1982), which sold for €10,000, after a maximum estimate of €8,000.
Another oil on canvas, “Blue Cadillac” by Gheorghe Fikl, sold for €10,000, after an estimate of between €9,000 and €16,000.

Works by artists such as Felix Aftene, Georgeta Năpăruș, Roman Tolici, Sorin Ilfoveanu, Sorin Ilfoveanu, Șerban Savu, Ion Dumitriu, Horia Damian and Irlo were also sold.
