Florin Zhu – Chaos and silence in new blossoms
“New Blossoms” is a work that started from the mixture of chaos and tranquility, it is “a portrayed sensation”, says artist Florin Zhu.
“It is the portrait of any identity, in which there is a certain self-awareness, represented in the work by the group of people, and the glass, which symbolizes light. In all this restlessness, you have the feeling that everything is going to be all right,” the sculptor explains to curatorial.
The work made of welded steel, brass and blown glass is part of the exhibition “Scissors, Paper, Stone”, curated by Cristina Simion, open at the National Museum of Literature in Bucharest until June 29, after having been presented in Iasi.
Florin Zhu has been working on this creation for several years. “It depends a lot on the mood and the idea. It’s one thing to think of the concept itself and another to practice.”

It is part of the “Rediscovered Garden” series, recently presented in an exhibition at the Turkish Bath in Iasi.
Zhu is also one of the artists exhibiting in the RAD Sculpture Park, which opened on April 29 at the CARO gardens in Bucharest. There, he is bringing another series of works, entitled “I Hope So”.
Born in 1997, Florin Zhu studied sculpture at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, under the guidance of Aurel Vlad. A member of the Union of Fine Artists, he has participated in numerous group exhibitions in recent years.
